Top Import/Export
Sudan's exports are agriculture and animals. The agriculture parts include sesame seeds at 27%, cotton at 17%, sheep at 12%, gold at 7.6%, vegetable oil at 6.4%, crude vegetable materials at 5.3%, and sugar at 3.7%. They also have an estimated 211 billion barrels of oil.
So, their top export is sesame seeds, but I'm sure that oil is up there too.
Sudan's imports are 8.1% consumer goods, 12.3% food, 10.3% fuels, 36.7% industrial supplies, 16.8% machinery, 15.3% transportation, 0.5% other.
So, the top import is industrial supplies. Probably used for farming, oil extraction, and military.
In 2009 Sudan's exports were recorded at $8.464 Billion. Their imports in that same year was $6.823 Billion.
Sudan seems to do most of its business with raw goods. Animals, petroleum, plants. Things of that nature. I'm sure that Sudan would LOVE to do more trade with military good and services but no one like them and doesn't want to because they are dangerous. So, for now they will stick to basic things. The world does love oil though, so I'm sure it have its finger in that pie.
South Sudan is trying its best to get established and will be a good exporter and importer of technology, goods, and services once they get their new country under control and stabilized.
